"Y" Litter: Rahab & Ruger have pups born on Jan 12th, 2008

I am practicing the "early neurological stimulation" exercises with this litter designed to produce "high achievers". Here is a link to learn more about this early handling: High Achievers. Puppies will be evaluated and temperament tested when they are between 6 and 7 weeks old ( Feb 27-29). For a description of the puppy aptitude test (PAT) and how to interpret the scores click here. Puppies who are qualifying for a "working" home will also be tested with the PAWS test. See here for the details of this test: http://malinut.com/write/paws.shtml At that time I will assign a specific price to each puppy based on my estimate of their show and breeding potential and they will range from $700-1200. Pups at the lower prices will go with limited AKC registration and a spay/neuter contract. After evaluating and pricing them, I will post pictures and descriptions of each one on this page and contact each person who has reserved one. At that time, people will be allowed to choose from the litter in the order in which I have received their deposits. They will be 7 weeks old on March 1st and they can be picked up then. I offer a 10% discount for picking up a puppy here rather than having me ship them. When they are 8 weeks old on March 8th, shipping will be available from Kansas City to most cities for $230 ($200 shipping plus $30 for the shipping kennel).

In the beginning, half of their nest has a blanket and the other half has hay for a potty area. They sleep on the blanket and when they are about 2 1/2 weeks old, they will start leaving the blanket to go potty on the hay. As they get older, I will give them more space and they will go farther and farther to get to the potty area. By the time they go to their new homes, they will be going outside through the doggy door to go potty for at least 2 weeks, and not having accidents inside on the blanket at all. Many people report that their puppy was housetrained from the day they arrived.

Of course they are AKC registered. For an explanation of Full vs. Limited AKC registration, please re-read the Background page. They will be vaccinated, wormed, vet checked, crate trained, and well socialized before they leave here. They come with a health record, pedigree, pictures of parents, contract & guarantee. As you can see from the pedigree below, a majority of the ancestors have champion or performance titles, and all parents and grandparents are OFA hip certified. In addition to the tattoo in the ear, I will also be microchipping every puppy before they leave here. Click here to read about how and why I do this. The charge for this additional service will be $20 which you will pay in addition to the price of the puppy. You must also pay the $12 "lost and found" option on the AKC registration application to register the tattoo and microchip numbers with the Companion Animal Recovery System.

Coat color usually gets darker and pigment usually gets lighter as a White Shepherd matures. Here is a key to coat color and pigment descriptions:
Coat color Excellent (E)= white all over
Coat color Very Good (VG) = white everywhere with a hint of light cream on ears
Coat color Good (G) = white with cream on ears and light cream on back
Coat color Fair (F) = buff on ears and cream or light buff on back
Pigment Excellent (E) = black on nose, lips, pads, toenails
Pigment Very Good (VG) = black on nose, lips, pads
Pigment Good (G) = black on nose, lips
Pigment Fair (F) = nose dark liver or black with some pink edges.

Here are the results of the evaluations at 7 weeks old

Purple collar boy has a medium coat (I thought at first it was a long coat) with good color, very good pigment, very good structure. He has temperament scores of social attraction 4, following 3, restraint 3, social dominance 4, elevation dominance 3, retrieving 3, touch sensitivity 3, sound sensitivity 2, chasing instinct 2, stability 3. He goes with full registration for $800.

SOLD Black collar boy has a medium length coat with excellent color, very good pigment, and excellent structure. He has temperament scores of social attraction 3, following 3, restraint 4, social dominance 4, elevation dominance 3, retrieving 4, touch sensitivity 3, sound sensitivity 2, chasing instinct 4, stability 1. So far I can only feel one testicle, so he will go with
limited registration for $700 (if his second testicle drops, his price goes up!)

SOLD Multi-colored collar girl has medium length coat with very good color, very good pigment, and excellent structure. She has temperament scores of social attraction 3, following 3, restraint 4, social dominance 3, elevation dominance 3, retrieving 4, touch sensitivity 3, sound sensitivity 2, chasing instinct 2, stability 2. Here they are at 6 weeks old. They have been going out the doggy door to go potty for a couple of weeks now. They run and play and follow people around. First are the females, then the males.

Here are the puppies at 3 1/2 weeks old. They are walking around and starting to play with each other. They are climbing out of the swimming pool nest and so today they got the big puppy arrangement where they can go out the doggy door to go potty. First are the 4 females, then the 3 males.

"Ruger" was born in September of 2003. He is 26 inches and 80 lbs at 3 years old. His hips are OFA Good, number GS-73035G25M-PI. His elbows are also OFA certified, number GS-EL18472M25-PI. His PennHIP DI scores are .29/.32. He finished his UKC Championship at 8 months old in just 4 shows. He has a medium length white coat, excellent pigment, and a good well balanced structure & movement. His temperament is confident and cooperative. He carries the longcoat gene. Available for stud to approved bitches, $500.

Rahab was born in August of 2005 at the home of Peggy Knight in Oregon. She came to me at 9 weeks old. She is short coated, pure white with black pigment. Lean and athletic. Her hips have an OFA grade of Good (GS77471G26F-PI) and OFA normal elbows (GS-EL21167F26-PI) at 26 months old. She is from a dark mother and white father.
